Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Her father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two brothers and one older brother. Due to unrest in Sri Lanka, her family were forced to relocate to Bahrain during the 1980s. The schooling she completed was in Bahrain and she won the Scholarship to an education at University of Sydney. There she graduated with a Media and Communications degree. A lover of cultures and different languages, she attended Berlitz Language School, where she learned Spanish and honed her French as well as Arabic. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th, 2006 and also participated in Miss Universe 2006. In the wake of her 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television and hosted a program about Sri Lankan businesses called Lanka Business Report. Padukone is her mother was the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. When she was a teenager she participated in national badminton tournaments. She later resigned from playing and went on to become an artist. Padukone hails from Mangalore and her mother language is Konkani. Padukone is a village in Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player Her mother, on the other hand, also works as a travel advisor.
